50+ Winter Date Ideas in NYC
Creative & Immersive Museums
If a typical art or history museum isn’t your thing, there are also many options for out-of-the box museums in NYC and immersive experiences. Here’s some to consider!
The House of Cannabis
The House of Cannabis in SoHo offers five floors celebrating the sights, sounds, sensations and stories of cannabis.
On Saturdays and Sundays you can enjoy the full building including the ten immersive exhibitions that illustrate the influence of cannabis on music, art and more.
THC NYC: 427 Broadway New York, NY 10013
INTER_IAM
Also in SoHo, when you visit INTER_, you’ll escape into an otherworldly immersive experience of tech-enabled art. There are two floors of interactive and generative exhibits.
It’s a very futuristic, generative experience that sets itself apart from others in the area. I find these are fun to get your mind off of the day-to-day things and instead play, create and connect with others.
INTER_IAM: 415 Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Mercer Labs, Museum of Art and Technology
Ooh, Mercer Labs is so fun! I went here for a double date night in early October when they had a Halloween-inspired experience. It was so enveloping, inspiring, and eerie! I can’t wait to visit again. You can save 15% on your visit using code UPFLUENCE15 via this link on the Mercer Labs site.
Mercer Labs: 21 Dey St, New York, NY 10007
The Museum of Sex
The Museum of Sex is another immersive museum and it also aims to be an educational experience sharing history, art and science exhibits that regularly rotate.
They have various fun and cultural exhibits to highlight different perspectives on sexuality that can really strike up conversation for you and your date! It’s the perfect spot to get all cuddly in the winter. Plus, the museum is open ‘til 12 AM on weekends. You can expect to spend 90 minutes to 2 hours here.
The Museum of Sex: 233 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10016
SPYSCAPE Museum
The SPYSCAPE Museum is so fun! A totally different vibe than the Museum of Sex, obviously, haha. First you’ll be able to enjoy the museum exhibit and experience learning all about the history of spies. It’s so fascinating learning about the tools that spies used over the years and in various wars. In addition to the traditional museum exhibits there are also interactive spy-themed experiences.

Have a Spa Day
It’s probably my thirties talking, but I love a spay day. Visiting a bath house or spa in Manhattan or nearby the city is a great, luxurious way to spend a date. Here’s a few spas and bathhouses to consider:
Aire Ancients Baths
Located in Tribeca, Aire has more of a luxury vibe than the other options here with inspiration taken from ancient Roman baths. They have candles and lanterns that lend to the relaxing vibes.
Address: 88 Franklin St, New York, NY 10013
Bathhouse
They offer two locations, one in Flatiron and one in Williamsburg. The Flatiron location is much larger of the two, however, I had the best massage of my life at the Williamsburg location so you can’t go wrong with either.
Address: 14 W 22nd St, New York, NY 10010
Address: 103 N 10th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Take a Trip
Lastly, a great winter date idea in NYC is to take a trip, whether it’s a weekend away, a day trip or just visiting a different borough for the day. Here’s a few ideas:
TWA Hotel
The TWA Hotel is iconic. It’s located at the JFK airport and truly feels like a trip back in time. The TWA Hotel was restored back to its 1960s glory and the entire space is just stunning. You can stay overnight or just visit for a few hours.
Explore a new-to-you neighborhood!
