A Spring Fun To-Do List helps you make the most of the season now that warmer weather is here! I’m so happy to be done with cold, gloomy weather. Here’s my Spring Fun To-Do List to remind myself of all the fun stuff I shouldn’t miss out on. Let me know what you think is a must-do for the season!

Clean Out Your Closets

Have you read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up? Read be and be inspired to clean out your closet if not your entire apartment.

A new season always feels like  fresh start and to me that involves refreshing my wardrobe.

So put away the winter items and get reintroduced to your lighter, seasonal pieces.

Toss items you’re no longer wearing. Give them to a younger cousin, a friend or donate to your local non-profit like a St. Vincent de Paul Store. Afterwards, you might just want to treat yourself with some new clothes too.

Cook a seasonal dish

One of the best parts of Spring is all of the delicious fresh produce that’s in season this time of year.

Make the most of it and visit a local farmer’s market so snag super local, fresh veggies and fruit.

Strawberries and asparagus are both available year-round, but have the best flavor when they’re in season from March – June. (This might be different depending on where you live!)

Add diced strawberries to a spinach salad to brighten up the greens and enjoy asparagus on the grill or sautéed with chicken.

Run a 5K!

You have endless options here! There are so many charity runs during the spring season so pick one and get out there for a good cause.

I like participating in spring runs before it’s the middle of summer and way too hot. Even if you’re not a runner, you can participate and support a charity by walking.

Pick Fresh Flowers

This one is easy. Pick some blooming flowers from your garden or the local shop.

Even though we’re experiencing a lot of gloomy half-winter/half-spring days here in Ohio, it’s nothing some bright colorful flowers can’t fix.

Treat yourself or surprise someone with some fresh blooms.

Visit a Local Park

Grab some friends or just your furry BFF and spend some time enjoying nature at a local park.

There are SO many here in Cincinnati and most of them include great views of our skyline.

Try googling local parks and events in your city to make the most of your green spaces that you didn’t even know about!

Take a Bike Ride

When was the last time you rode a bike? If you haven’t for a few years it’s seriously the strangest feeling haha.

Dust off your bike or rent one for a new way to travel. And if you loathe bike riding, just get out and walk.

Take a different route around your neighborhood and enjoy the scenery now that we’re no longer stuck inside from the cold snow!

Dine Outside

Now that daylight savings has passed, it’s still light out by the time I make it home from work and the gym. Having a few extra hours of sunlight every day makes me SO much happier.

I plan to enjoy it fully by dining alfresco on my back porch and at local restaurants when the weather permits. IPA’s make perfect patio beers.

Ride some Roller Coasters

Okay, I understand this one might not be for you, but I just had to add it. I love visiting theme parks, Disney and Universal anyone?!

There’s something about rollercoasters that scare the living crap out of me and make me feel alive and fearless all at the same time.

I personally think it’s important to do things out of your comfort zone to challenge yourself in new ways and rollercoasters are always a step out of my comfort zone.

  1. Picking flowers and eating outside is a weekly must for me when it’s pretty out love all your picks those two are the best.

  2. What a great list! I love cleaning out my closet and have been slowly working to do that for the past couple weeks. I also have half marathon coming up next weekend, so I’ve been really training hard for that!

  3. I love listening be love the book! I read it in the fall and my indie/sock drawer has been organized ever since! Picking flowers is my all time favorite thing to do in the spring but I often find I just can’t do it! So I end up buying flowers at our Farmers Market!

  4. Coasters are definitely not my thing, but I have been wanting to run a 5K for a long time. This might be my year 🙂

  5. Yes to the seasonal dish! I have a Michael Symon cookbook that offers recipes for each season and I love using it! Its so smart to use fresh produce and sometimes I forget about that. I think that every vegetable or fruit will be available all year! oops.

  6. Bike ride and cooking seasonal dish are two list which I definitely would love to do. I just back from supermarkt and saw asperagus on the stall. Your post inspired me to make some cooking using asperagus.

  7. Heck no on the coasters, but I do most of the other things on the list. Then again, Im in Miami and spring is a rude reminder to enjoy the few moments left before the summer heat kicks in.

  8. I like the idea of a fun to-do list. There are always so many things I’d like to do but forget about them until too late. It would be fun to do a list as a family!

    1. That’s a great idea! Sometimes the season flies by so fast it’s good to have a reminder of all the fun things you’d like to do while the weather is lovely.

  9. It’s been snowing in Chicago all day today, so we are totally not done with the cold weather, but we did eat some strawberries today and they smelled like spring. We are definitely looking forward to eating outside in the backyard once the weather will give us a chance!

    1. Hi Krystle,

I LOVE visiting the Zoo! It’s always great to visit during the spring, because it gets SO hot during the summer and the animals are often hiding in the shade. 🙂

  10. I’m such a fan of getting outside once the weather is nice enough. The kids and I had a picnic outside a few weeks ago when it was warm– then it snowed again! lol. But I’m super excited to finally see some flowers growing!

  11. Spring cleaning is definitely at the top of my list. You’ve inspired me to create a list that’s a bit more comprehensive…especially including exercise activities.

  12. Im not too sure on the 5k and coasters, but I need to make a list like this and get at it! I went through the closet last week and it was refreshing!

    1. Haha, yep I know the coasters are definitely not for everyone. But a 5K can be a walk instead of a run! I’m participating in one this weekend and planning to run/walk. It’s for a good cause which always makes me happy. 🙂

  13. I need to go through my closet – I recently left corporate life and I have quite a few pieces that I will simply never wear again. 🙂 Hooray!

  14. I think what I like most about Spring may be the fact that each year, I find something new to savor. This year, it was that moment, when my 5 year old grandson commented to me that my place was his favorite place to come while we stopped for an outdoor lunch the day we built the new fire pit to boil sap on in the back yard. Even though that day we were still slogging through a foot of snow to get to the buckets, we also watched a pair of Bluebirds inspect a potential new home in a hole in a dead tree.

  15. Such a great list of fun things to do. I love to cook seasonally. This is the greatest time of year for fresh veggies and fruit. I loved coasters, I can’t do them anymore, doctors orders, but I live vicariously through my kids and I will be going to our amusement park soon.
