Right now I am seeing roughly 41 MPG and that is after changing the spark plugs with brand new NGK Iridium's, Air intake filter and did an oil change since it was due for one.

After sitting, it seems normal for a while after start-up but then tends to drop. Mine has never attained that and it has been steadily dropping. Also, it seemed the oil was somewhat "channeling" on the dipstick... hard to explain, but it wasn't 100% coating the dipstick like I'd normally expect and seemed like wouldn't "stick" to it.

It is new and has just under 500 miles on it, and I read that the break-in is 1000 miles. Two are grey and two are black, in alternating order. When the car is totally warm and I measure the mileage for 15 miles or so I get normal readings of mpg. The MPG on our Prius recently dropped from 52 to 44. I have driven the car roughly 2,500 miles since all of this stuff was done and it just seemed to continue to drop to the 41 MPG mark.What I have noticed though is that when the motor turns off it shudders and the when it restarts while the car is in park the car will roll back and forth slightly. Could that be caused by a bad coil? They said my MAF bank 1 sensor 1 needed replacing but they didn't have the part so couldn't do the fix but I'd be okay to complete my trip. So in the middle of a road trip 9 days ago my check engine light came on. The Tahoe has been running great and was getting normal mpg until recently.

I could also swear that those OEM plugs always had 3 grounds. But your fuel mileage can easily drop 5 mpg (miles per gallon) or more before that happens so if your mileage has been dropping and you have 80,000 miles are more this is a good place to start.
I live in Raleigh, NC and I did notice a drop in drop in MPG over the winter ranging between 44-48mpg but the mpg never rose again as the months warmed and I averaged 44-46mpg for most of the summer. Alas I can't be sure what was there before versus what's there now, but I know my previous mechanic was a stickler for OEM parts.

It did seem somewhat "black" given that I changed it and filter about 1,200 miles ago. I have one other incident where when I was traveling at a low speed, I lost all power.
