This issue drags you right back into the story so well that you feel like part of it. The panel layout is creative enough to avoid monotony, but not complicated enough to inhibit the plot. What’s equally striking is Bressan’s design for magic casting, “magic mode” looks like Brennan is on fire with energy and spells. Days before his surprise birthday party, young Mikey Rhodes goes missing. This is a fantasy comic series, so naturally I love it. Hopefully the story moves into more dangerous territory rather than sticking with the usual fantasy tropes, especially considering it's a series that tries to turn the usual tropes on their collective head. Colorist Adriano Lucas reinforces this world-ending tone with some bright, fiery colors. We’ve got a new big bad and she doesn’t need any fancy glove to get this done.
