Loving Lately: March

Hello! So I wanted to end out the month with a little round up of things I’ve been loving lately. Typically, I try to share articles that serve a purpose like travel guides, recipes, how-to’s and solutions for a problem you might have. But, there is a person behind the blog who’d love to have a bit more of a conversation with you. So, I want to share some of the things I’ve been loving lately and whatever else is on my mind. Keep reading to find some of the shows I’ve been Netlifixing, books I’ve been reading, products I’m adoring and more.

None of these are “paid” mentions. Some of the items were gifted, but I wasn’t required to share anything here, so you’re getting my honest opinion on what I’ve been into lately. I hope you enjoy. And please leave a quick comment at the end to let me know what you’ve been loving lately too!

What I’m Watching

Big Little Lies (on HBO)
Ahh! Have you been watching this?! I knew BLL was going to be good because of the cast, but OMG I was not prepared for how great this show is. It’s one of those “special event” shows that is only one season long, and BLL is just 8 episodes. BLL Is actually based on a novel. I’ve started to read the novel so I can read the book version and compare it to the TV show. I’d say the book is almost always better but in this case when you have Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon working together, you really can’t beat it. The final episode premieres this Sunday so binge now while you can!

Supernatural (on Netflix)
As someone who has a soft spot for sci-fi and fantasy type shows and books (like True Blood, Harry Potter and Stranger Things!) it’s kind of surprising that I never gave this show a try. I’ve been slowing watching the old seasons on Netflix while I’m cleaning and getting work done around the house. The show follows two brothers who are hunters and track down evil beings and demons to eradicate them. Sometimes they are going after characters we’ve seen before like werewolves and zombies and other episodes they are chasing some crazy scary beings.

Grace and Frankie (on Netflix)
I love shows and movies that are probably meant for an older audience like “Something’s Gotta Give” and “First Wives Club.” So it’s no surprise that I adore the Netflix series, Grace and Frankie. It follows two older women whose husbands leave them for each other. It’s SO funny and stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Just give the first few episodes a try and I promise you’ll love it! It’s probably a little easier to get into than Netflix’s other recent show Santa Clarita Diet, starring Drew Barrymore. Which I also loved. Basically, what I’m saying is, give Netflix series a try!

Products I’m Loving

Harry’s Razors
Have you heard of this razor subscription service before? I’m really into discovering small ways to cut costs and get the best bang for my buck and signing up for a razor subscription service is totally one of them. Basically, you sign up and get your razor, plus a few replacement blades and shaving cream, then the company will automatically ship you new razor blades as needed. And the prices are much lower than at the store for a better quality razor. For someone who always forgets to pick up new blades when needed and hates being overcharged for women’s razors, this has been a great discovery. I did receive my first kit complimentary from Harry’s.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Universal Daily Peel Pads
So I first received a sample of these facial pads over a year ago with a Sephora purchase. I think I had 2 uses in the sample. And no joke, after even just the first use, I woke up and had a glow to my skin. I am not kidding! The bad news – these suckers are pricey. At least for my budget. But they do amazing things. The alpha hydroxy acid in the facial pads seem to really deep clean your pores and leaves your face with a nice healthy glow.

Smashbox Lipcolor
Influenster sent me a box of some Smashbox goodies including an eyeshadow palette and this GORGEOUS liquid lip color. It’s the Be Legendary Liquid Lip in Crimson Chrome. It’s bright red shade with some shimmer. It’s certainly a statement lip color, but I really like it and thought it was easy to apply unlike some liquid lip products that can get super messy. I’ll definitely be sharing more pics of the products on my Instagram.

Fitness Faves

Action Jacquelyn! I discovered Jacquelyn on Instagram and purchased her Get Stretchy ebook to help me start a regular stretching routine that’s not overwhelming. Her guide was easy to follow and not intimidating whatsoever which is great because I’ve made it a regular part of my day to help combat sitting at my desk job. What’s even better are the free workouts she shares on her website. I’ve tried bother a lower and upper body barre workout and love them for when I’m working out at home. I believe you have to sign up on her email list to access all the extras and the videos. They are totally worth it!

Now Reading

You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
I’ve been reading through this book by Jen Sincero and it’s been really helpful. Her writing style is really funny and even though it falls under that self-help category it feels more like a conversation with a friend.

It’s really good! I’m reading the book simultaneously and can’t decide whether to finish the book or the show first. It’s so suspenseful!
