If you haven’t seen or heard of Stranger Things, first things first: get yourself to Netflix now! And if you have seen it, then I know you too love the Netflix-original series. The series has everything you could want with mystery, fear, nostalgia and the cutest friendships. While I love all the characters, I am such a huge fan of Eleven. So what better way to show your admiration for Stranger Things than by emulating one of the characters for Halloween?! Keep reading to see how to be your own Eleven for Halloween this year.
I finished my first 10K race this past November and my first 5K just a few weeks prior. It was a rewarding experience, especially since I have never considered myself a runner. I’m really into weightlifting, but wanted to jump out of my comfort zone and decided to give running a real commitment. It was 1000% percent worth it! Here’s my advice if you want to run a 5 or 10K as a New Year’s resolution.
While photographs of faraway places do spark my wanderlust, there’s nothing quite like a good book to really get me eager to travel. The below books are just three of my favorite reads that I find really inspiring when it comes to travel. Whether you just enjoy reading about faraway places or have plans for a long-term trip yourself, one of these reads is for you. Enjoy!
My gym essentials always includes my iPhone. Of course, I’m using Spotify to get through my workouts, but I’m also using other apps to help me accomplish my fitness goals and keep me on track. Whether you need a boost of motivation, a routine to mix things up, or help keeping your diet on track, there’s something for you in the App Store.
These are the four health and fitness apps I recommend:
Meet your new favorite OTR watering hole: Queen City Radio.
Queen City Radio held it’s grand opening this weekend after opening their doors for a soft opening this past week. I was so glad I stopped by to check the place out while in OTR last Friday. I stopped at Queen City Radio, rode the new Cincinnati Bell Connector and tried some new menu items at Pontiac BBQ so all in all, it was a great night of trying new things.
Here’s just a few things you’re going to LOVE about Queen City Radio:
Midpoint Music Festival will be held September 23-25 in Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, Ohio. The festival has been running since 2001 and has seen many changes over the years. One lasting element, however, is that it is a haven for music lovers looking to hear their local favorites, discover new music and see the “next big thing” before it goes mainstream.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so, of course, I’m already thinking about how to celebrate this year. I love having some simple, easy Halloween looks like this Scarecrow costume that can be put together quickly and without needing to spend much. I thought I’d share another look from last year with you if you’re looking for some easy Halloween inspiration.
This scarecrow costume is comfortable, cute and office-appropriate (depending on your office dress code). Plus, it’s easy to wear full length overalls and a thicker flannel shirt if you live in colder climates.
This past Halloween, I needed a quick costume to pass out candy. I wanted it to be a little creepy, but not gory – so a Skeleton was the perfect fit. It’s a classic Halloween look. This DIY makeup look is simple and easy!
This is not the Halloween look to win a costume contest. It is however, an inexpensive and easy-to-create look that comes together pretty quickly. And is possible to create with makeup you already have at home! Now, let’s get to how I pulled this skeleton look together.
As much as I love getting out in the city and checking out new places with my boyfriend, I do also really enjoy an evening spent at home. It’s relaxing to kick back and just focus on the one person or group of friends that you want to see so you can really catch up with each other. Instead of just a regular dinner and a movie, it’s nice to mix things up every now and then. Below are a few date night ideas for an evening in!
